“I’ve learned that whenever I decide something with an open heart, I usually make the right decision. I’ve learned that even when I have pains, I don’t have to be one. I’ve learned that every day you should reach out and touch someone. People love a warm hug, or just a friendly pat on the back. I’ve learned that I still have a lot to learn.”

Allah’s Gift

“Know that the world is Allah’s gift, and that He needs nothing in return, and that your worship and gratitude are part of His gift to you. And if you realize how much He gives, and how little you deserve or do, you will never stop praising Him. He is the infinitely lovable, the overlooker of faults; the Gifter of all beauty, so we are surrounded by a banquet! The only rule is: have good table manners, and do not spoil your enjoyment by overindulgence! Muslims are here to party, giving hamd [praise] and shukr [thanks], and we remember that the Sahaba had the most beautiful smiles.”

Our need to love him ..

“The Prophet (peace be upon him) is not in need of our love for him when Allah loved him, and chose him and raised him! But we are in need of loving him. Why? Because, if he becomes more beloved to us than our own selves, then, if your lower self commanded you to evil, and you loved him more than your own self, then your lower self would have no influence over you. You would leave what you desire for what he called you to, because he is more beloved to you than your self.”

Night Prayer

A man once said to Hasan al-Basri: “I disobey God and commit sins, but I find that I am still granted things of the world and experience success in it and am not cut off from anything!”

Hasan al Basri replied: “Do you pray in the night?”

The man said: “No.”

Hasan al-Basri said: “Then it is enough that God has cut you off from intimate conversation with Him.”

May God forgive us and grant us a portion of His night worship.

The realities of good come swiftly to you

His beauty completes the deficiency of evil

Neither deficiency nor evil, in reality hold true.”
